Stephen Brown

I was born at Chard in Somerset in 1947 and studied at the Somerset College of Art. I credit the formation of my style to my friend and mentor Patrick Larking RP ROI under whom I studied during the 1970s. I have lived all my life in the West of England where I paint the landscape and beaches near my home at Sidmouth. I have exhibited at the Royal West of England Academy, the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, the New English Art Club and I was elected to full membership of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1998.
