I graduated from the Nottingham College of Art with an NDD in Graphics and printmaking. Drawing skills acquired then have always held me in good stead. I have believed that drawing has formed the most important element in my work.
Having ended a long career in graphics, photography and design management I returned to my first love, painting and printmaking in the 1990’s.
Over the last thirty years I have become increasing drawn to sea, sail and ships. I am particularly inspired by classic yachts and working boats. I usually work from my own photographic images working in gouache and oils.
In addition to paintings, I have produced a wide range of mixed media linocuts on both marine and mining subjects.
My work can be seen in a number of galleries throughout the UK and is also in collections in Europe, Scandinavia and the USA.
