David Sprakes
RBA, MAFA

I am an established British sculptor. Originally from Doncaster I now live and work in Derbyshire. I am an elected member of the Royal Society of British Artists and the Manchester Academy of Fine Art. I work in bronze, marble, steel, aluminium, plastics, plaster and clay, employing modelling, moulding, casting, carving and welding techniques. My approach to sculpture is eclectic, gathering a range of sources and visual stimulus from landscape, natural forms, man-made structures to inanimate objects and abstract influences. A key message in my work are the visual and physical quality of the material. Investigation and research are fundamental principles behind the sculpture.
