A former keen sportsman, Dennis Syrett is a no nonsense figurative painter, whose favourite subjects range from the hustle and bustle of New York, to tropical Barbados, India, Hong Kong, the Middle East, Spain and the South of France.
He took up painting seriously in his mid-thirties and soon became well established in the art world, exhibiting at major London galleries whilst concurrently achieving membership of a number of premier national art societies. He was elected as president of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters in 2004.
He is also a full member of the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Society of Marine Artists, the London Sketch Club, and Buckinghamshire Art Society.
Although he works in all media, he particularly favours oils and combines his interest with his love of travel.
