Captivated by the magical beauty and sculptural possibilities of glass, seeking Brancusi’s ‘Synthesis of Light and Form’, Peter specialises in glass sculpture whilst also painting in oils.
Born in London, initially scientifically trained, he established his practice in 1993 using his technical skills and recent developments in glass technology, making innovative sculptures inaccessible by traditional techniques.
Peter gained his doctorate from Brunel University, then studied at Sutton College of Liberal Arts. Elected a Member of the Royal Society of Sculptors in 1999, honoured as a Fellow in 2014, he was elected to the RBA in 2010.
Newsome’s sculptures have been commissioned by celebrities, corporations, presented by royalty and feature in collections in three continents.
